Kai's last memory was a blur of red—his own blood pooling around him after an accident he couldn’t even comprehend. A sharp pain shot through his chest, then... nothing.

But suddenly, there was warmth. A rhythmic thumping sound. A comforting embrace.

“He’s beautiful,” a gentle voice whispered.

Kai's eyelids fluttered open. He expected a hospital ceiling or the blinding lights of an ambulance, but instead, he saw a woman with silver hair and emerald-green eyes gazing at him with love.

"My son... my little Kai," she cooed, her voice filled with warmth.

Kai’s mind was in turmoil. Where am I? What happened to me? He tried to move, but his limbs felt tiny and weak. Then it hit him—he was a baby.

No... this isn’t right!

Just as panic began to rise, a cold, mechanical voice echoed in his mind:

Kai’s heart pounded. A system? Like those from the novels he used to read? He quickly understood—he had died and been reborn in another world, a world of magic.

His mother, Lady Selene Valeria, was a noblewoman from the Valeria household, known for their exceptional magical lineage. She loved him dearly, showering him with warmth, despite the cold gazes from others in the mansion.

But as Kai grew, something became apparent—Mana did not react to him.

No matter how much he tried, he couldn’t manipulate even a speck of magic. In a world where strength meant everything, Kai was branded as a failure. His relatives mocked him, servants ignored him, and nobles whispered behind his back.

But Selene never stopped believing in him.

“You are my son, and you will shine in ways they cannot imagine.”

She always smiled at him, caressed his hair, and whispered words of love. Her belief in him was unwavering.

However, fate was cruel.

One night, when Kai was five, a group of masked men invaded their home. Fire and destruction engulfed the mansion. Screams filled the air.

Kai was dragged away by the servants, but through the flames, he saw it—his mother, facing a man in black robes.

"Run, Kai!" she cried, before the man's blade pierced her chest.

His world shattered.
