"Lord..."
Ahko woke up with a lot of neck pain, she held her neck not remembering what had happened yesterday, she could feel her neck a little twisted than it normally was. She finds herself in a luxury room covered with many things that she wouldn't have ever afford. The bed feels so comfy she just wants to stay on it forever.
She lays down for a while trying to remember what happened that caused her neck to be in severe pain ever since she woke up, decides not to just lie on the bed trying to remember it, so she goes to the shower she normally would, she undressed her white blouse, and go to the bathroom.
She sets the temperature of the bath, waits a few moments, then goes in. But something is strange about her movement, every day she woke up and went to the bathroom but today it felt like she had just used it for the very first time. She has to do it consciously and not with muscle memory which is pretty odd considering she has been there for years.
She brushed that aside thinking it was probably her slightly twisted neck that caused her body to be a little more confused than before, maybe if she waited a little longer then her neck would be fully healed. While enjoying her bath, she kept trying to remember what happened yesterday but it's very hard to make up her mind to do it.
Suddenly, the memories flood in, she remembers what happened yesterday, because of her demon nature, sometimes she becomes enranged for no reason other than a thirst for blood. Usually, when she's in that state she's outside of the mansion so it doesn't really affect anyone besides some monsters.
But yesterday, she became enraged inside the mansion and killed almost everyone inside it, but luckily she didn't kill her master, Ken. She felt relieved but also in so much guilt. The man who saved her from those bastards that killed her parents, the man who cared for her, the man who took care of her every need, the man who considered her as a friend rather than a slave or subordinate, the man who never lay his hand on her, the man who trained her to what she is today, the only man that knows about her true identity, the man who kept her secrets and never told anyone about her demon species.
Even though she has no resemblance of affectionate towards her master because of her demon nature, but she has the most respect and devotion towards her master, she takes his every order, his every command, and whatever he says, she will do it even killing herself is that what he wanted.
She takes long moments to think about her actions and what she has just done to the mansion, the beautiful mansion that Ken built for years has been destroyed internally by her in just a night. She held her twisted neck remembering her master had no choice but to snap her neck to calm her down, all she had done but he didn't even kill her. Rather, he put her into the bed to let her rest.
Some tears ran down her cheeks as she thought to herself why did she even have such a kind and generous master like him? She didn't deserve his kindness at all, and yet the gods gave her the kindest person in the entire world. She stepped out of the bathtub, wrapped herself with a towel, and went outside of the bathroom.
She can see some folded outfit and a meal on a table, since no one beside her and her master is living in this bloody mansion, she knows her master is the one who prepared her the outfit and her meal. She wanted to thank him for what he did even after she massacred the whole mansion. She ran to the door but stopped mid-way through, she looked down remembering she only wears a towel to cover herself.
She goes back to the table, changed her clothes, eat the food, then leaves. The moment she stepped out of her room, she could see much blood splattering on the corridors and many rooms. Heads and bodies lying everywhere and she can't step without stepping on blood. She carefully tiptoeing her way to her master's office.
Knock Knock..
"Lord... It's me Ahko..." Ahko quietly talked.
"Come in."
Ahko slowly opens the door in fear of what her master is thinking about her action and the consequences. She lowered her head and gently closed the door behind her.
"Lord..." Ahko quietly mumbles.
"It's okay Ahko... We all make mistakes from time to time..."
"W-What? B-But Lord, what I did is the most horrible thing this mansion has ever received, please punish me Lord what I have done..."
"No need Ahko, you are forgiven, let's just say this is just a nightmare.. I can find some guards and maids in a short time."
"L-Lord... P-Please... Just punish me... S-Should I kill myself for what I have done...?" Ahko put her dagger on her almost-healed neck.
"Ahko, stop that." Ken ordered with a cold stare.
"U-Understood..." Ahko lowered her dagger.
"If you really want to compensate for what you've done, you can help me clean up the dead bodies."
"... T-That's it... Lord...? I-I can do way more than that..."
"That is it, now, please. Do it, then do whatever you want."
"L-Lord... Y-You are too kind..."
"Sometimes you just have to let through a harsh day, yesterday was the day but now it's a new day, a new and improved you, so please, do so, and no need to report to me once you are done."
"L-Lord... T-Thank you for everything..."
"And you don't need to."
"U-Understood..."
Ahko went outside of the office and took a deep breath before cleaning the bodies at a fast pace. Within minutes, the heads and the bodies have been thrown away to the very back of the mansion. Once the dead bodies have been piled up, she extends her hand and casts a fireball, completely disintegrating the bodies and praying respect to the fallen soldiers.
While she's watching the bodies being burned into washed, another eyes are also watching the scene unfold, with a neutral yet joyful expression on his face.
"You are very weak, a simple brainwash spell has overwritten your memories. Let's see how long it'll take for you to break the spell.." Ken muttered.
With that he goes back to his work, trying to recruit some subordinates to fill those many vacant slots. Fortunate for him, because of his fame of being the kindest duke, it'll take no time to fill in those slots.
When the last corpse burned into ashes, she left the mansion and went to the guilds. Usually, she's with her master's side for years, taking his orders and such, but a month ago he gave her permission to roam around the city, taking missions from the guilds, or even going to other cities as long as she doesn't forget about him.
After Ken gives her permission, suddenly the system comes out of nowhere, living free inside her head, but this isn't that bad compared to the advantages it gives. It granted her strength far faster than what she'd had done for years, she could do it in just a couple of days, not only that the system also gave her a new weapon to deal with monsters she came across and so far it has been a very good dagger.
Since she has nothing to do, she goes to the guilds, meets Lydia for the first time, and becomes friends, go to the ghost forest mistaking it to be the trica forest, destroys the goblin dungeon, gets to talk to one of the 7 sinner gods, and also destroy one of the 8 bandit bases. While she's at it she also takes 2 slaves for herself and treats them as kindly as how her master treated her.
She remembered she put her slaves into an inn where Layla resided before going to the mansion alone, and then the whole incident happened. Now she's going to the guild hopefully finding them waiting for her.
The next stop would be going to the temple to get The God of Mischief's blessing, she wouldn't need her slaves and Layla for this journey since it would be too dangerous for them. She could just go there without having to go to the guild but she rather waste an hour of explaining to them what happened to her yesterday and maybe accept a mission to collect the White Scaled Snake's cores.
She steps inside the guild, and she sees none of her companions in there, so she goes to the mission board while ignoring Lydia's gaze. She couldn't find any mission inside The Ghost Forest and so she went back outside not forgetting to gaze at Lydia for a little bit.
Outside coincidentally, she meets her companions almost going inside the guild but then stops midway through when their eyes meet. Ahko then goes back inside and guides them to the corner of the guild to talk.
"What happened yesterday? Why you didn't come back...?" Layla asked in worry
"Nothing... I was a little tired and slept in Lydia's house that's all..." Ahko answered.
"Mistress, we were so worried about you... Please, if Mistress wants to stay overnight at someone's place, tell us in advance..." Alya talked.
"That's my fault... That won't happen again..." Ahko slightly lowered her head.
"It's okay Mistress..." Kate comforts her.
"Anyways, what's your next move gonna be..?" Layla asked.
"I'm planning to go to The Ghost Forest." Ahko answered.
"Ghost Forest..? Isn't that forest too dangerous even for someone like you..? I heard it fills with White Scaled Snakes."
"I've been there already weeks before so it'll not be that hard for me." Ahko uttered
"Oh... Wait alone!?" Layla shouted in disbelief
"What about it?" Ahko asked.
"What the hell do you mean!? That forest is so much more dangerous compared to the goblin dungeon!! Their venom will kill you in minutes if you go too far!!" Layla explained.
"I know, I've been in that situation, but I lived."
"How the fuck...? You did go far into the forest and lived..?" Layla widened her eyes.
"That's right, it wasn't a nice journey though." Ahko stated as if it was just a minor journey.
"Of course, it's not! No one dared to go into that forest even with a party!! What's going on in your head!?" Layla yelled louder.
"The snakes are not that tough, one stab and it's dead." Ahko demonstrated how she killed them.
"... are you immune to the venom or something..?"
"Not at that moment but certainly now."
"... How did you manage to survive like 200 fucking snakes biting you all at once...?" Layla doubted.
"Just kill a lot and when it reaches a certain limit, they won't come to bite me anymore, that's how I survived them. If they keep coming then I'll be dead for sure." Ahko answered nonchalantly
"Mistress... You are so strong..." Kate complimented
"So did Mistress develop a poison resistance after that..?" Alya asked.
"I did."
"Oh Mistress, how great you are..." Kate looks at Ahko in adoration.
"No wonder Mistress can easily destroy the goblin dungeon and the bandit base... The Ghost Forest itself is another type of dangerous than those two.." Alya nodded her head.
"How much did Mistress kill...?" Kate questioned.
"Roughly... 200..?" Ahko stated.
"200!? I thought the limit was like 50!!" Layla yelled.
"I was caught off guard too at that moment." Ahko exaggerates
"... Mistress, caught off guard and still wins against the snakes..!" Kate gasped.
"Those snakes must be really weak then..." Alya concludes
"The snakes might be weak by themselves but keep in mind there are multiple snakes trying to kill me all at once." Ahko's ego increases.
"And Mistress managed to win out of all odds..." Alya mumbles in amazed.
"What were you trying to achieve in the forest?" Layla questioned.
"I mistaken the forest for The Trica Forest."
"Pfft-" Layla chuckles.
"Oh, Mistress... You must felt the forest has more challenge than whatever the dungeon is..." Alya justified Ahko's confusion.
"Ahko, how can you not distinguish the fog and the clear forest...?" Layla slightly giggles.
"I thought it was the forest I was looking for since it looked more intimidating looking." Ahko tries to not let her pride down.
"Fair... But you didn't ask Lydia about the forest? You just take the mission and leave?"
"Yeah."
"... I guess some people have to learn it the hard way..." Layla shrugged.
"Mistress, does the fog light or thick...?" Kate asked.
"It's very thick, I couldn't see that much for 3 meters away."
"It's that thick? And you still decide to keep going..." Layla is amazed by her actions despite knowing what lies ahead.
"If the dungeon mission has to be with a party then the forest must be as strong as the dungeon." Ahko muttered.
"That... kinda make sense? Whatever, so you planning to go there? For what reason?"
"I heard there is a temple inside the forest, specifically the temple for the sinner gods. I want to get the God of Mischief's blessing."
"Ah- What? There's a temple inside that forest..? And what makes you think The God of Mischief will grant you her blessing?" Layla questioned.
"When I was resting outside the dungeon, my dagger spoke to me, and said to go to the temple inside the forest." Ahko took out her dagger
"What...? What kind of dagger is that..? No wonder you can kill that many people in a short amount of time, the dagger itself is also abnormal like you..." Layla carefully examines the dagger.
"Amazing, Mistress... Even The God of Mischief herself saw the potential within Mistress..." Kate is even more amazed by her Mistress.
"Congratulations Mistress, should we escort you to the temple..?" Alya quietly cheered for her Mistress.
"No need, I'll go alone." Ahko stated.
"B-But Mistress-"
"You can go accept some mission to improve yourself, I might be back at night." Ahko cut Alya off.
"U-Understood Mistress..." Alya quietly complied.
"What about me?" Layla asked.
"I don't know, do whatever you want maybe follow them?" Ahko pointed towards the two.
"Alright... Just don't die, no one knows what's in the middle of that forest."
Ahko nodded and left the guild. Headed straight to the forest, but now with much knowledge compared to her last time going in there, this journey was not only to go to the temple, but also kill as many snakes as possible to meet the demonic criteria and the system evolution requirement. While going towards the forest she was notified by the system.
"Last night user killed a total of 165 humans."
User hasn't accepted the exp and the shop coins:
86 Guards Ranges between Level 10 - 20 Exp: 2760

26 Butlers Ranges between Level 8 - 10 Exp: 468

Ahko sighed in guilt seeing the exp she had taken from the innocent lives inside the mansion. She wants to cancel the exp given to her and the shop coins but decides to keep it to make their deaths not go to waste.
What do you think?
