Chapter 863: 862 You are unwilling

“Good morning,”

Wen Ran felt a bit embarrassed.

Although they had once been husband and wife, it had been a long time since they last embraced each other in sleep.

Her cheeks were flushed, but her gaze met his directly, unwilling to shift away from his smiling, handsome face. Mo Xiuchen chuckled softly and bent down to kiss her forehead. “Ranran, you sleep a little longer, I’ll go make breakfast for you.”

“I’ll accompany you.”

Wen Ran’s voice was soft and tender, with her unique timbre, it sounded a little coquettish to his ears. The smile at the corners of Mo Xiuchen’s mouth spread further with her words “I’ll accompany you.”

“Alright, then let’s get up together,”

He sat up first, then pulled her up.

The four words “get up together” were filled with an air of happiness and sweetness. Mo Xiuchen found clothes for Wen Ran, while he simply took the shirt that had been drying on the balcony the night before and put it back on, only changing into a different pair of trousers.

The shirt had been stained yesterday, but after some effort, he managed to wash it out.

Knowing that Wen Ran was shy, Mo Xiuchen discreetly avoided looking at her until she had changed her clothes. Only then did he come in from the balcony. The two of them washed up together and went downstairs hand in hand.

Wen Ran watched Mo Xiuchen make breakfast and felt a surreal happiness. Contentment had come too fast, too suddenly.

“Ranran, what are you thinking about?”

Mo Xiuchen turned his gaze, just in time to catch Wen Ran lost in thought, with a touch of tenderness rising in his eyes, he asked softly.

Wen Ran shook her head, saying with a smile, “I wasn’t thinking about anything.”

“Ranran, isn’t there something you ought to tell me today?” Mo Xiuchen’s lips curled into a slight smile as he flipped the frying egg with a wooden spatula, then turned his head to look at her.

The rich aroma was enticing, and the smile in Wen Ran’s eyes blossomed as she playfully said, “I’m hungry right now, Mo Xiuchen. You need to let me eat my fill before I have the energy to speak.”

“Alright, I’ll let you eat your fill before we talk,”

Mo Xiuchen’s slightly elongated tone carried a strong sense of indulgence.

He made breakfast quickly, and they chatted sporadically as he worked. In no time at all, breakfast was ready, and Wen Ran carried it to the dining room.

“Ranran, will you go back to work after you return?”

As they sat eating breakfast at the dining table, Mo Xiuchen asked casually.

Wen Ran, focused on eating the egg he had fried, looked up at him when she heard his question, swallowed the egg in her mouth, then answered, “Mhm, working.”

Mo Xiuchen’s large hand stretched over, his thumb gently wiping away the egg fragments from the corner of her mouth. “Eat slowly, be careful not to choke.”

“I won’t, Mo Xiuchen, the egg you fried is really delicious,” she replied. It was full of flavor and truly delightful.

Mo Xiuchen’s laugh was gentle; his features handsome and his demeanor elegant. The sight captivated Wen Ran for a moment. Then, she suddenly furrowed her brows, “Stop laughing, you’re too handsome.”

“Haha, Ranran, you little fan,” Mo Xiuchen was more than pleased to hear her comment on his looks. “Quit being infatuated; hurry up and eat. I’ll make you breakfast every day and smile for you every day. You’re not allowed to find me annoying for the rest of our lives.”

Wen Ran smiled as well, her heart as sweet as if she had drunk honey. “That’s what you said—you’ll only smile for me. You’re not allowed to smile in front of other women.”

She looked at his enchanting, seductive smile, afraid that no woman could resist such temptation. Fortunately, when he lost his memory, he did not stir up any romance, even treating Cheng Jia, who had been watching over him, with dislike.

“Ranran, that puts me in a bit of a difficult spot,” Mo Xiuchen stopped smiling and furrowed his handsome brows, feigning difficulty as he pondered.

“You don’t want to?” Wen Ran asked seriously, her clear, expansive eyes fixed on him.

Mo Xiuchen shook his head, blinking innocently, “It’s not that I don’t want to, Ranran. I can smile only for you, and it’s okay not to smile at other women, but what if she’s your friend? Should I keep a cold face then as well? And in public, if I’m originally smiling at you, I can hardly ask others to close their eyes.”

“You’re deliberately misinterpreting my meaning,” Wen Ran hummed unhappily.

Mo Xiuchen’s face was the picture of innocence. “I’m not, Ranran, I just want to be clear.”

Wen Ran pouted and gave him an egg, saying, “What I mean is, you’re not allowed to smile so beautifully at other women or stir up any romances.”

“I can do that, rest assured, aside from you, other creatures have no gender in my eyes.”

Mo Xiuchen spoke with certainty, and Wen Ran glared at him but couldn’t help laughing anyway.

That night, Mo Jingteng did suggest potential matches for Mo Xiuchen, all from families with excellent backgrounds, even asking him to have a date with a different woman every day. However, this arrangement for blind dates ultimately fell through because Mo Jingteng fainted and was hospitalized.

Latterly, Mo Xiuchen had to go on a business trip, and Mo Jingteng didn’t bring it up again, but now reminded by Ranran, Mo Xiuchen secretly noted that he needed to confirm this matter once back in G City.

He couldn’t afford any mistakes that would upset his Ranran.

After breakfast, Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen received the fruits they had ordered, arriving one after another.

They had made the order the previous afternoon. Due to time constraints, they couldn’t pick them personally, but the fruits delivered by the orchard were all carefully selected.

The Aston set off, cruising steadily towards G City. Wen Ran had driven on the way there, but now on their return, Mo Xiuchen insisted she not tire herself out.

Wen Ran was only responsible for sitting in the passenger seat, keeping him company, snacking on fruits, admiring the scenery, and chatting with him.

Seeing her enjoy the strawberries so much, a doting curve graced Mo Xiuchen’s lips, and his voice came out smooth and warm, “Ranran, since you like strawberries so much, I’ll buy a piece of land and plant strawberries for you, how does that sound?”

Wen Ran teased with a laugh, “I’m not a pig, do you need to buy a piece of land just to plant strawberries for me to eat?”

“It’s necessary. As long as you like it.”

Mo Xiuchen didn’t hesitate. Anything she liked, he would make sure she had it in her hands; if he bought land to grow strawberries, she would have them year-round.

And what’s more, something grown by oneself is more reassuring to eat.

Wen Ran gave him a mock-scolding look and fed a strawberry into his mouth before saying, “Mo Xiuchen, I don’t only like strawberries. I like many things, and there are so many types of fruits. You can’t possibly grow each type yourself; you’d have to buy the whole town.”

“It’s not impossible to buy every type of fruit in this town,” Mo Xiuchen said calmly, almost as if he was not talking about buying a greenhouse or an orchard, but a kilogram of fruit.

“Mo Xiuchen, you can’t be serious?”

Wen Ran blinked, looking at Mo Xiuchen with surprise. He didn’t seem to be lying.

Mo Xiuchen turned his gaze, giving her a tender smile. He took his well-defined hand off the steering wheel, stretched it over to Wen Ran’s head, and affectionately ruffled her hair with a gentle tone:
